What does counselling mean?

We understand consulting as a legal service and a business assignment in out-of-court legal transactions. In doing so, we try to work together with you to offer you concrete legal options.

How expensive is the consultation compensated?

The compensation for the consultation usually depends on it's scope. By law, fees can be charged in accordance with the German Lawyers' Fees Act (RVG). The amount of the fees is determined by the value of the matter. Alternatively, the client and the lawyer can agree on an hourly rate, which is particularly advisable in the case of higher amounts. The hourly rates vary depending on the legal experience and expertise of the advising lawyer.

What do I do if I have a deadline?

Often clients come to us who can present documents to an administrative authority or a court in which deadlines are specified. In this case, we ask for special care and also for notification to us so that no deadlines are missed. We will then explain to you whether it is possible to extend the deadline or whether the deadline must be met in any case.

Can I authorise the lawyer to act on my behalf in the matter without any restrictions?

If you instruct us as lawyers in a matter, we are at least authorised orally. We can act for you in the external relationship. However, it is advisable to sign a written power of attorney which we can prove to third parties. Both a verbal and a written power of attorney can be revoked at any time.

Representation

As attorneys experienced in litigation, we represent our clients out of court and in court, in particular before regional courts and higher regional courts, nationwide, but also before administrative courts, the higher administrative courts and the Federal Administrative Court. In addition, we are also admitted to practice before fiscal courts, social courts and labor courts nationwide.

Frequently asked questions about representation

What does representation mean?

Legal representation includes, on the one hand, representation before the respective courts. On the other hand, representation can also refer to extrajudicial legal transactions, such as representation in contract negotiations, as partners or members in WEG meetings, in the conclusion of notarial contracts, etc.

Which remuneration arrangement is recommended for representation mandates?

In the case of long-term representation as well as advisory mandates without knowing the exact scope of the advice or representation and the time to be spent on it, in most cases a fair hourly settlement is made on a monthly basis. The client has absolute cost control throughout the entire process. If it is a matter of legal services for clearly defined projects, the remuneration can be set at a flat rate. Details are to be agreed in advance in a confidential discussion with the client.
